4-F Bass Club Katy
The 4-F Bass Club was founded in 1993 in Katy, Texas by a group of fishing buddies who wanted a club that is fun to fish in. Hence the name 4-F (Friends Fishing For Fun). We strive to maintain the following charactersics: Low Cost, Companionship, Simple rules, No Cash or Expensive Prizes, and most of all...Fun. We typically meet from 7:00pm to 8:00pm on the first Thursday of each month (except December) in a conference room at the Katy Mills Bass Pro Shop.

Alkek Velodrome
The Alkek Velodrome is a 333meter, concrete track. Its banking ranges from 33 degrees in the turns to 9 degrees in the straights. It was built in 1986 and has held everything from Junior Regionals to Olympic Qualifiers.

Angel Food Ministries
Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing quality groceries at deeply discounted prices since 1994. Angel Food feeds over 500,000 families a month across 35 states and is now available to your family through First Christian Church of Katy. Angel Food's groceries are sold once per month in a quantity that can fit into a medium-sized box. A box averages 18 food items for only $30 per box. Each month's menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items with an average retail value of approximately $60. Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single senior citizen for almost a month. Charity's Animal Rescue & Shelter (CARS)
We have dogs and puppies available for adoption. We take in abandoned, abused, neglected and unwanted animals. Every animal that comes in is seen by our vet for a health check as well as any testing that needs to be done. They are also spayed or neutered and vaccinated before going to their forever home.

Child Advocates
Child Advocates, Inc. mobilizes court appointed volunteers to break the vicious cycle of child abuse. We speak up for abused children who are lost in the system and guide them into safe environments where they can thrive. Very simply, our organization trains and supports volunteers. Volunteers who make a difference in the lives of children. These volunteers are assigned to the cases of children who have been victims of life-threatening abuse or neglect and - as a result - have been placed in protective custody. Our volunteers contact caseworkers, interview parents, ensure necessary medical care, look out for educational interests and make recommendations in court regarding the permanent placement of the child. They dry tears and give hugs and throw birthday parties too. Most importantly, they serve as a "constant" person for that child to count on during a very tumultuous time.

Family Friends
Family Friends works under the umbrella program of Family to Family Network. We match adult volunteers with a family who has a child with disabilities to become a mentor to the child and offer the family extra support. It is a wonderful program that helps both the family and the volunteer in many ways. We provide a fun training program and accompany the Volunteer to the first meetings with the family. We have several families on our waiting list in the Katy area that would love to have a special Family Friend, there may be others that would be interested in our program.

Fort Bend House of Hope offers a Christ-centered six-month non-residential program for struggling teens (ages 13 to 18) and their parents in the Katy area. We use a sliding scale for weekly fees (Books are an additional cost). We offer: 1. Weekly - Biblical counseling for teen and parents 2. Weekly - Prayer for teen and parents 3. Parenting classes, FAMILY Rules and weekly support group 4. Character building class for teens and weekly support group We also do Saturday workshops using FAMILY Rules as a parenting workshop to help empower parents to parent with purpose. Katy Area Parents of Multiples
A non-profit organization that was created for parents of (or expectant parents of) twins, triplets, or more. Meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month at Crosspoint Community Church, 700 S. Westgreen Blvd (at the corner of Kingsland and Westgreen). We meet in "The Warehouse" which is the junior high building behind the church. The new and expectant moms forum meets at 6:30pm and general membership meets at 7pm. We have children's socials and family get-togethers throughout the year, as well as monthly playdates. There are also 2 Buy and Sells a year (a good place to find clothing, toys, and equipment for your multiples and usually held in March and September). Dues are currently set at $32.00 a year. KAPOM members will receive our monthly newsletter, The Matched Set Gazette, which is published 11 months of the year, are allowed to sell items in the club's Buy and Sells, and participate in all social functions. Katy Christian Ministries, KCM, is a Social Service non-profit agency serving the Katy, West Houston, Fulshear/Simonton Communities, which began with 2 churches in the early 1980's and is now a coalition of 37 Church's. KCM includes Social Service Offices, to help those with emergency financial assistance, in Katy and Fulshear along with Food Pantries and Crisis Center's. Katy Lacrosse Club
High School age young men living in the ‘zoned’ area of Katy High School, either attending public, private or being home schooled may become a member of this team. Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport among Jr. and Sr. High programs in Texas. Always known as a ‘cold climate’ sport and played for so many years up North, Lacrosse has broken lose in Houston and surrounding areas in the last 10 years. Most, if not all programs and Clubs at the High School level belong to two very established organizations which oversee the sport, keeping it very well organized and professionally run. We often hear so much about football, especially in Katy, but the sport of Lacrosse is just as demanding if not more so in regards to specific skills, such as speed, agility, coordination, and endurance is often likened to many techniques known in soccer, basketball and hockey. The plus about Lacrosse is you don’t have to compete with hundreds of other players on a team to get field time. With usually between 25-40 players in a program, combined with dedication and hard work, you get all the field time you want.

Katy Prairie Promenaders Square Dancing II
The Katy Prairie Promenaders Square Dance club was organized in 1970. We are a member of the Houston Square and Round Dance Council. We are one of approximately 40 square dance clubs in the greater Houston area. The Promenaders have approximately 60 members ranging in age from teenagers to early 80's. Members live in Katy, Pattison, Bellville and West Houston. Club dues are $15.00/person per month or $30.00/couple per month. Lessons are $4.00/person per lesson. Lessons run for 15 weeks. Members present speeches, conduct portions of the meeting, evaluate one another, and speak extemporaneously, and guests are always welcome. We also have speech contests twice a year. One of our members, Deborah Cerkovnik, won both the International Speech and Table Topics Contests for Division N, and placed second and third in these contests at the District 56 level in October and November. A free series of events and activities for parents and preschoolers ages birth to 5 years old. The 2009 “Mondays with Mommy” will be held on the second Monday of each month from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and feature a wide range of topics. All moms groups welcome. While “Mommy” is in the title, dads, grandparents and guardians are welcome to attend. Each “Mondays with Mommy” event will include a “pay it forward” opportunity offering parents and kids a chance to give back to the community.

Texas Wildlife Rehabilitation
As a nonprofit organization in operation for 30 years, TWRC serves the community as an emergency facility for native Texas wildlife brought to us by the public. Our mission is to rehabilitate and release orphaned, injured and ill Texas wildlife and to provide education and instruction in wildlife rehabilitation and conservation. TWRC is currently in need of volunteers willing to commit time in the care and feeding of these animals and help staff the wildlife center.
